When the client wanted a ‘Party’ button installed on the front of their equipment rack to put the entire apartment into ‘party mode’ we knew this was going to be an epic project. Located in the heart of Auckland, New Zealand, close to the Britomart nightlife precinct, this stunning apartment oozes style and packs the punches with a Vantage whole home automation controlling lights, blinds, extensive multi-room audio, and a Dolby Atmos surround sound home theatre. The client had home automation before and wanted all the features with none of the hassles of their prior brand of control system so, reliability was key.
Breadth of Control: The multiple subsystems, requirement for unified control and need for high reliability meant Vantage was the obvious choice. Compact Space: Due to the limited space available in the plantroom, Vantage Din family was selected. Tight Integration: Vantage controls the ‘whole of home’ audio system which is built around an Autonomic high-resolution streaming media player with digital amps for the best possible sound. The tight integration means that playlists that the client creates in spotify are immediately available for recall on the EQ73 screens and EQ apps. Simple Control: Vantage delivers simple control of the impressive Media Room featuring 86” LG TV and a Yamaha 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos Surround Sound System, including an in-wall subwoofer for an in-home cinematic experience despite the compact space. A custom length soundbar has been provided perfectly matching the width of the TV and provides the centre channel of audio. Whole Home AV: Bedrooms are outfitted with 49” Smart TVs and the master bedroom features a motorised swing-bracket which automatically turns the television towards the viewing position when the television is turned on. When turned off, the motorised bracket gracefully moves the TV back against the wall revealing a stunning view of the harbour and Hauraki gulf beyond. All AV in the apartment is controlled by the Vantage EQ user interface.
